This blog is about my dad, Ben, and his twin brother, Calvin. Both served in the Pacific during WWII. Calvin was killed in New Guinea, not in combat, but in an accident while unloading supplies from a barge. My grandmother saved all of the letters they wrote home from the beginning to the end. I read them when I was younger, but after reading them again recently I realized what an absolute treasure they are. I created this blog to be able to share them with family and friends.
She was one of the neighbors. Her brother, the other Calvin (Baldwin) was also in the service as we're alot of the boys in their neighborhood. I think she and Daddy were sweet on each other for a while.
