This blog is about my dad, Ben, and his twin brother, Calvin. Both served in the Pacific during WWII. Calvin was killed in New Guinea, not in combat, but in an accident while unloading supplies from a barge. My grandmother saved all of the letters they wrote home from the beginning to the end. I read them when I was younger, but after reading them again recently I realized what an absolute treasure they are. I created this blog to be able to share them with family and friends.

Calvin, Nov. 13, 1943
Notice in this letter and the next one how Calvin cut the letter head
out of the stationary he used.
They weren't allowed to give out their location at this camp.
