This blog is about my dad, Ben, and his twin brother, Calvin. Both served in the Pacific during WWII. Calvin was killed in New Guinea, not in combat, but in an accident while unloading supplies from a barge. My grandmother saved all of the letters they wrote home from the beginning to the end. I read them when I was younger, but after reading them again recently I realized what an absolute treasure they are. I created this blog to be able to share them with family and friends.
Or maybe they lived on the land you are on now? Calvin refers to Gooseneck; I knew that was Hargis property but didn't kow if the house was there or not. If so, where abouts was it?

ReplyDeleteThey used to call that area Gooseneck, but the county renamed everything. I haven't heard it called that in years.
